Disrupting your own product

I will start with some shameless plug. We just disrupted our own product: Associates.

Here it is:

Almond says hi!

Oops - wrong photo.

Now that the subliminal message is in your head that I am very cute, I can talk about the new shiny feature we launched.

What is it? In short, it is an AI Account Executive.

What is the difference from all the hundreds of AI SDR solutions out there?

→ Research.

  1. AI will source your ideal customer profile every single day.

  1. Then spend minutes to hours researching each lead and writing an account planning report.

  1. Write the outreach messages on email and Linkedin in any kind of sequence you want.

Best thing about it: Set & forget.

We will send emails everyday on autopilot instead of requiring you to approve the messages.

Each day, new leads will be sourced and you will be notified.

You can then edit your messages or abort them before they go out.

This was not difficult to build but tough to frame in the product. Here is why:

Each function in this feature is found in our spreadsheet feature. The associate is an opinionated collection and workflow of those features, sequenced together to work in the most optimal way.

In a certain way: It is a collection of all the things we learned from our customers and our own usage - tucked up into a feature.

Pretty anxious and excited to get your feedback. Give it a try and let us know.

On another note - holidays are approaching. I hate this time of the year.

It is like everything comes to a halt.

Emails get automated replies, people travel and are not in the office, the weather is cold and sucks - you can't even go outside.

A good recent surprise in cold weather though was the YC Startup School coming to London.

Before you ask - yes Paul Graham was there.

He was the last speaker. I hadn't heard him live for so long. He is so graphic while speaking which I like.

The most interesting thing he talked about IMO: downfall of Microsoft.

One founder asked about "What is your most controversial opinion on AI?"

PG goes:

  • Microsoft.

  • On one hand Microsoft is the obvious winner. AI benefits their products and their bread and butter is the knowledge worker.

  • On the other hand, in previous cycles similar companies have always been brutally disrupted. Also MS technology is used by the knowledge worker who writes emails and does data entry - which are posed to be disrupted by AI. Yet MS cannot disrupt them because they charge people on a per seat basis.

This was pretty interesting to think about. I might be missing details as I was spent from playing some poker the night before. (I took the pic so not in it)

We are organising a founders-only speakeasy event for intimate and sincere conversations between a small group of people next month.

The first event is filled out but gearing up for the second one already. It is in London in a quiet bar/restaurant.

If you would like to join - just DM me anywhere, either email, Linkedin or Twitter.

So - what did you get done this week?

Best,
